Nonentity (The Monochrome Trilogy-Book 3) by Todd Keisling

NONENTITY is a satisfying end to the Monochrome Trilogy!

The real world is now merging with the Monochrome and things are not looking good. Creatures are coming through to the real side and are wreaking havoc everywhere. Donovan and Donna are both still in jeopardy and Donovan’s brother Michael is too. The battle between good and evil is coming to a head and the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Will Donovan win the day and reunite with his pregnant wife? You’ll have to read this and see!

When I first started reading it took a little time to get back into the swing of things and remember who everyone was and what they were doing when the last book came to an end. Once I did though, the story fairly flew along. There are so many bad people here, it seemed sure that Donovan would be overwhelmed. Aleister, Pontius Vile, the ungod. The author was able to weave everything together seamlessly though, and this reader was hanging on for the ride.

I won’t get into the denouement because I don’t want to spoil anything, but I was surprised by it, and that is a rare occurrence lately! I came to care a lot for these characters, but most especially for Donovan and Donna, so I was really rooting for them to come out on top. You’ll have to to read this to find out whether or not they did.

NONENTITY was a great way to finish off the year. 2021 has been a year full of challenges, but the books I’ve read have helped keep me entertained and sane. I hope to read more of Todd Keisling’s work in the upcoming year, but as for now?

I highly recommend the MONOCHROME TRILOGY!

In 2012, fans of Donovan Candle were held in suspense at the conclusion of The Liminal Man. Nine years later, Bram Stoker Award-nominated author Todd Keisling returns to finish what he started with Nonentity, the final chapter of the Monochrome Trilogy.

Following the cataclysmic demise of Albert Sparrow, the balance between Monochrome and Spectrum is weakened, and both realities begin to collide. The sky is fractured, quakes tear through the earth, and pallid abominations slip between the cracks to wreak havoc upon the world.

As Donna, Michael, Alice, and Quinn struggle to survive the onslaught and find safety, Donovan Candle journeys across a gray wasteland toward the Monochrome’s center. There, a sleeping entity known as the Ungod feeds on the dreams and failures of humanity—and may be the key to restoring the balance.

But what awaits Donovan is far more sinister, as a centuries-old stalemate between Aleister Dullington and his former master, Pontius Vile, is reaching its breaking point…
