My Top Ten Novels of 2020

These are my favorite reads of 2020! Other than the first one, they are in no particular order. Stephen Graham Jones has a book on each of my top ten lists for 2020. I don’t think that’s ever been by another author, since I started blogging about 5 years ago. As always, these are books I READ this year, not books that were released this year. Anyway, without further ado here are my top ten novels of 2020,

(click the covers to read my original reviews):

The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

The Boatman’s Daughter by Andy Davidson

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix

The Cipher by Kathe Koja

Stoker’s Wilde West by Steven Hopstaken and Melissa Prusi

Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven

Boon by Edward Kurtz, narrated by Joshua Saxon

Devil’s Creek by Todd Keisling

Case White by Thomas Sullivan, narrated by Joshua Saxon

The Dirty South by John Connolly

If you’ve stayed with me this far, I thank you! I thank anyone who has taken the time to visit my site over the last few months. Thanks for your patience as I’ve been moving over all of these posts, which has caused my followers to see the same things more than once.

  1. I want to read all of these now, especially The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones, luckily I already got the ebook 🙂 Great list Char, happy reading in 2021!

  2. Hi Char,

I’ve only just found your site but I’ve been following your reviews elsewhere and you’ve changed the shape of my TBR pile. I read ‘The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires’ on your recommendation and it was one of my 2020 Best Reads. I have ‘Boon’, ‘The Only Good Indians’. ‘Fantasticland’ and both Stoker books in my TBR pile thanks to you.

I like the style of your site. I’ll keep dropping by. Do you have a ‘Follow Me’ widget so I can use my WordPress Reader to follow your posts?

    1. Hi Mike!

Thanks so much for all of your kind words about my site. I’m still working on it, and I’m pretty sure I have a Follow Me thingy on here somewhere, because people do follow me, I just don’t know where it is! When I find it, I’ll let you know! LOL
I’ve just heard there’s going to be a follow up to Boon and I can’t wait! I also can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the books you mentioned. I’ll be keeping an eye out!
